Soneri Bank Enhances Data Center Infrastructure Due to growth plans of the new management which included addition of online branches and value added service offering and the ever growing processing & storage demands which the present hardware was not capable of handling. Soneri Bank decided to revamp their data Center hardware with new hardware which not only easily handled the expected workload but will have the scalability to handle future IT demands of the bank. Soneri Bank, along with being one of the leading banks in Pakistan, is also one of the pioneers of using the latest technologies in the entire industry. They will be the first bank to deploy fully encryption-capable storage solutions. VISA requires all member banks to encrypt their data residing on any storage system to comply with Payment card industry Data Security Standard. Newly introduced brocade Encryption-capable SAN switches were added to the solution to meet the demands of compliance with regulatory mandates, industry standards of data confidentiality, and valuable digital assets protection. Soneri Bank selected IBM eX5 servers for its high benchmarks which will not only give them enhanced processing power and scalability but will also provide enhanced I/O performance due to SSD drives. Soneri Bank is expecting 3 times the performance enhancement which will ease the workload and also result in improved response to end customers. Soneri will get a major revamp in storage performance by installing one of the fastest storage systems across the storage industry in shape of DS8800s.This will reduce the teller time, time on counter and improve the over all service standards for the banks in addition to the growth the bank is foreseeing in years to come.
